We must endeavor now more than ever before to be prepared to work our way forward with resolve and determination that will see the rebirth of a prosperous and vibrant economy. We must embrace the values that have contributed to building large economies such as China.
The Chinese people have something we don’t have and perhaps we can learn from. Their self belief is larger than their body size. They have built their economy not because they had some sort of excellent international ties with some ‘super’ power, but because they believed in themselves. They have built and put up massive and excellent infrastructure in place with their own expertise. They did not hire engineers from the outside world, they did it themselves.
As a nation, we have to build a larger self belief. We must stop being shoddy. We have to be true to ourselves and show the world that we respect ourselves. We cannot wait for another man or woman to do something for us. We have waited too long anyway. It is important and critical now more than ever before for men and women of character to serve this nation not because of what they will get but because of what they will leave behind.
If Chinese people have done that much even without any allegiance to any religion, why can’t we and why not now? We owe it to ourselves to make a mark in our generation.
