Over the short time that I have been on the globe, I have learnt that to live a life of fulfillment, you have at times and more often than not, do things contrary to the ‘wishes’ of most people.

 

You have got to cautiously and carefully ignore the ‘wishes’ of most of the people that surround you. I was given a name after I was born on a day like today the 19th of May contrary to the ‘wish’ of my mother.

I reared rabbits in our homestead at home contrary to the ‘wish’ of my mother. My mother hated rabbits with a passion but not any more. I have a rabbit farm under her keep. When I was growing up as a boy, I loved dogs and I still do. I got a female dog from a school mate in Primary school in exchange for a golf ball contrary to the ‘wish’ of my mother. My disliked dogs and I had to hide the kernel in my grand mother’s homestead. To my surprise, this year my mother told me she needs to keep a dog.

At some point during my boyhood, I wanted to have a fish pond. I did manage to convince my parents about this crazy idea and I did construct a fish pond contrary to the ‘wish’ of the village mates because I had to divert water from a perennial stream.

I also liked to do some farming. I cleared some uncultivated bushy area on my fathers land to grow wheat contrary to the ‘wish’ of the climate in that region.
AS I celebrate my birthday today, I charge you to do what you have to in order not to ever say “I wish I knew”. Now you do know.
